I recently got this box set of tarot cards with the original imagery by Pamela Coleman Smith and it came with a copy of the text by the original author, Arthur Edward Waite.
Aside from having a dense mystically-nerdy mind he has a tendency to slip in really hilarious shade about the difference between how he understands the cards and what other mystics may be saying.
