Rivers is a series of paintings in which Campion explores her fascination with journeying through landscape as an act of self-inquiry, akin to going on a vision quest or pilgrimage to a sacred site. In her work, the rivers are depicted like tuning forks echoing across the surface of the Earth.
Campion began this series of paintings as her MFA project, "Rivers," at the California Institute of Integral Studies, from which she graduated in 2012. This body of work is her celebration of ecological systems as an interconnected whole and a reminder that our physical, psychological and spiritual bodies are embedded in a relationship to the natural world.
