Rivers is a series of paintings in which Campion explores her fascination with journeying through landscape as an act of self-inquiry, akin to going on a vision quest or pilgrimage to a sacred site. In her work, the rivers are depicted like tuning forks echoing across the surface of the Earth.

River Gallery

Rivers is a series of paintings in which Campion explores her fascination with journeying through landscape as an act of self-inquiry, akin to going on a vision quest or pilgrimage to a sacred site. In her work, the rivers are depicted like tuning forks echoing across the surface of the Earth.

Campion began this series of paintings as her MFA project, "Rivers," at the California Institute of Integral Studies, from which she graduated in 2012. This body of work is her celebration of ecological systems as an interconnected whole and a reminder that our physical, psychological and spiritual bodies are embedded in a relationship to the natural world.

This river art gallery originated from Jenelle Leigh Campion's MFA project at the California Institute of Integral Studies. The collection uniquely creates river paintings that speak to both environmental appreciation and inner journeys.

The collection includes fifteen distinct river paintings featuring the world's most significant waterways: the Amazon, Ganges, Colorado watersheds, Congo, Niger, Murray watershed, Nile, Rio Grande, and Rivers of the Gulf.

A special focus is given to the Mississippi River Watershed, explored through eight unique interpretations using varied color combinations.

Rivers create powerful focal points in meditation spaces, living rooms, and areas where you seek a sense of flow and movement. These pieces work exceptionally well in spaces where you want to enhance feelings of tranquility and connection.

Rivers can be arranged as a series to create a flowing visual journey through a space, or as individual statement pieces that anchor a room's energy.
